Microdermabrasion At Home

Todays product spotlight is on Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish.  In salon microdermabrasions, tiny crystals are sprayed onto the skin to remove the outer layer and reveal more luminous skin.  They generally take about half an hour, cost around $200, and can require up to 10 treatments for optimal results.  In using the Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish for the past month I’ve found it to be a quality at-home alternative.  It is a three-part action approach that blends physical, chemical, and enzyme rejuvenators for “dramatic skin resurfacing results” with the added home convenience.

About the Polish

The Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish uses professional grade crystals to smooth skin, and does not contain environmentally harmful plastic polyethylene beads as some other home polishes do.  It utilizes papaya enzyme and 10% glycolic acid to loosen dead skin cells, clear congested pores, and buff dry skin.  It was created by Drs. Van Scott and Yu, the very dermatologists who patented the first Glycolic Peel.

Recommended Use & Review

Exuviance recommends use once or twice a week.  “Apply a thin even layer to a clean wet face, lightly massaging in a circular motion for 30 seconds.  Do not scrub.  Leave on for up to 2 minutes and thoroughly rinse with warm water and gently pat dry.”  With consistent use over the course of a month I noticed that my sensitive skin was well exfoliated without ever having had a negative reaction.  I tend to have really dry skin, especially with exfoliants, but this microdermabrasion face polish really did buff off the dead skin to reveal softer, healthier skin.  I don’t have acne scars or dark spots so I can’t speak on the claims that this polish can diminish them, but it did help my skin while adjusting to the recent weather and season change.
