Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Review | First Impressions
Laura Mercier has been one of my favorite beauty brands dating all the way back to Highschool, when the only product I could comfortably apply was their cult classic Tinted Moisturizer. So needless to say, I was really interested when I began to see the new Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation teased all over social media. But what is Flawless Fusion? Here’s what the brand says:
“Laura believes that Foundation’s true purpose is to even out your skin tone so it looks its very best. Her foundations create a flawless, natural look that lets your skin show through, yet they are distinctly lighter in weight and texture than conventional formulas. The aim is to enhance your beauty, not cover it up.
All the wear, all the coverage, without the weight. Laura’s longest wearing foundation of flawless full coverage and 15 hours of wear fused into one weightless formula.
High-performance wear that’s sweat, humidity, water and transfer resistant. Colour stays true all day and won’t oxidize. Coated pigments glide on to create buildable medium to full colour that beautifully evens out skin tone and minimizes the look of pores and imperfections.
Controls oil immediately and throughout the day. Matte finish is never dull, flat or cakey. Weightless texture looks, fits and feels like a second skin. Skin-fusion technology provides ultimate longwear with comfortable, breathable ease.
Medium to Full weightless coverage.”
I wanted to give you guys an honest review and first impression of how I felt about this product, what color worked best on my skin, and share my “flawless face” routine. Check out my first impression below and some more info from Laura Mercier at the bottom of the page.
My Laura Mercier Flawless Face Routine
I’ve been using my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation for months now (haven’t we all), but I sometimes feel like its best suited for night use and gets a bit thick looking during brighter days. Off the bat what I liked about the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation was that the brand encourages you to use less product, seriously, to avoid that creasy look. The shade 3n2 Honey was surprisingly perfect for me, even though I was worried that it looked dark in the bottle. With use of the setting powder and a few layers of concealer on top, I think it probably did hold true for the promised 15 hours.
To create my flawless face I begin with the Foundation Primer, either the Primer Protect Broad Spectrum SPF 30 for daytime use or the Primer Radiance for extra dewy skin at night. After that I apply the Flawless Fusion Foundation in shade 3n2Honey with my damp beauty blender ball, starting with a thin layer and adding more as I need. The Secret Concealer is next, topped occasionally with the Candleglow Concealer and Highlighter when I need some extra brightness under my eye. Because my skin is dry I don’t use powder all over my face, so I apply the Invisible Loose Setting Powder ever so lightly on my chin, around my nose, and on my forehead where I tend to get a bit oily. It’s the lightest powder I’ve used so far, and even when I do occasionally use it under my eyes I never crease- which is a first! I finish my face with my favorite parts- the Matte Radiance Baked Powder for contour and the Face Illuminators to highlight. The Illuminator “Indescretion” has been my go-to since the day I opened it; just the perfect rose gold neutral color.
HOW TO USE
“Dispense a small amount onto the back of your hand and apply to face with Laura’s Egg-Shaped Sponge or fingertips. For best results, use after your preferred Laura Mercier Foundation Primer. Laura’s technique is to use less rather than more for the best effect, and to use Concealer, not Foundation, to cover or hide specific imperfections. Be sure to blend foundation below the jaw line.”
PRO TIP
“For the most flawless, natural look, Laura says it’s key to avoid over-applying foundation to the middle of the face—where too much formula can accentuate lines and other imperfections. With liquid, crème, or powder, she recommends starting at the outer portion of the face and working inward towards the nose. Focus on one area at a time and be sure to blend well. Avoid excess application around eyes or the contours of the face. Repeat application until desired coverage is achieved.
Remember, use Foundation to even out your skin tone. Use Concealer to camouflage imperfections.”
The Technology
“Skin Fusion Technology a high-tech, liquid thin mesh seals formula into place. Ensures pigment stays in place all day yet feels weightless and comfortable.”

Oh isn’t this a fiddle? I would like to know if Laura Mercier makes a ONE foundation+concealer+moisturiser+powder which means you only have to use one product rather than multiple layers.
Sounds magical, but I don’t know if I would want a hybrid Moisturizer + Powder! 😉
